Rice husk

Rice husks can be beneficial for plants and soil¹²³⁴⁵:

• They improve soil aeration and drainage, especially in heavy and compact soils.
• When mixed into the soil, rice hulls give it a lighter texture, allowing better oxygen flow to plant roots.
• They can be spread on the soil surface or mixed into the top layer.
• For potted plants, use 10-50% rice hulls in the mix.
• Rice hulls can also be used as mulching material.
